BULLDOG MISSING - GENEROUS REWARD. Sicklerville, NJ

My name is Cindy Rogers and I need your help! My 1 year old female Bulldog has been missing since Christmas Eve morning.

She was last seen getting into a dark gray BMW suv or similar type vehicle around 11:00 am on Sicklerville Rd in Sicklerville.

I have contacted the police, area animal hospitals and shelters. I've posted a huge sign at my mailbox for her return. Fliers have been posted all around the Sicklerville area as well. I've put a notice on Facebook, Myspace and Craig's List. I'm attaching a photo of her that was taken on our way to the Octo-Bull-Fest this past Halloween. You may recall my son Gregory, who has Down's Syndrome as your unofficial helper at that event. Needless to say he is very upset as we all are.

Her name is Lola, she is white a brindled and has a very distinctive "cherry eye" on the right eye. Please post her picture where you can.

We just want her home, NO QUESTIONS ASKED! GENEROUS REWARD will be provided!!

If you have any information on Lola please call (215) 514-9818, (856) 340-9155 or email HSRescue@aol.com.

Thank you for your help.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM HSBR!

A Dog's Christmas Poem
by Shel Silverstein

Tonight's my first night as a watchdog,
And here it is Christmas Eve.
The children are sleepin' all cozy upstairs,
While I'm guardin' the stockin's and tree.

What's THAT now . . . footsteps on the rooftop?
Could it be a cat or a mouse?
Who's THIS down the chimney?
A thief with a beard - And a big sack for robbin' the house?

I'm barkin'. . . I'm growlin' . . . I'm bitin' his butt.
He howls and jumps back in his sleigh.
I scared his strange horses, they leap in the air.
I've frightened the whole bunch away.

Now the house is all peaceful and quiet again,
The stockin's are safe as can be.
Won't the kiddies be glad when they wake up tomorrow . . .
And see how I've guarded the tree.

Tank, Honoray Bulldog, Needs a Home

TANK IS POSTED AS A COURTESY TO A FRIEND - WE'RE ALL TRYING TO HELP THIS OLD BOY FIND HIS FUR-EVER HOME.
This is what she told us: I met Tank this week and I am hoping that we can all help him find his fur-ever home. Tank is an intact male Pitbull, about 55#, and probably 11-13 years old. HIS OWNER MOVED OUT OF THEIR APT AND LEFT HIM BEHIND!! A kindly neighbor has taken in Tank temporarily. He can not have a dog but wanted to give Tank a chance and not bring him to the shelter. So times a wasting... (TANK WILL HAVE TO BE NEUTERED IN ORDER TO BE ADOPTED).

Tank loves people. He had no reaction to strangers approaching even strangers with umbrellas. I will be honest, Tank has no leash manners but he was also being walked on a harness so throw a easy walk harness on this boy and you'll be golden! I poked and prodded this boy over and over and he had no reaction. I manipulated all of his legs with no reaction. He has no sensitivity to his paws or ears being handled. His teeth have seen better days but a better diet might be able to help with that. He has lost a bit of muscle mass throughout his body but he is getting older and was probably not properly exercised throughout his life. His nails could also use a trimming. He had no problem letting me force him into sits and other positions. He took food so gently from my hand and appeared to have no issues taking or leaving food on the ground. So happy he did so well with all of this...

Next he got to see my dog... Tank was very excited to see my female Rottie but showed no aggression. He was at the end of his leash barking but my dog had no reaction to this. After walking for a bit, Tank finally calmed down enough and I allowed him to sniff my dog's butt. Ahhhh! Success! Both dogs walked calmly next to each other. All Tank needed was to calm himself a bit. There was no problem with face to face greetings either.

Personally I think he would do well in a home with another balanced dog, probably female, unsure about males ( unfortunately I didn't have my male with me at the time). Probably not a good match for a home with cats. Although I don't know. He no reaction to the squirrels running around. He does know commands so brushing up on the training couldn't hurt. He would settle into just about any home that gave him a set routine and some exercise.

The man who has him now is in Rutherford, NJ. He said that he gave Tank a pillow to sleep on and he prefers to be covered with a blanket. Help me give this boy a chance, please!

Can you help??? Pass this info along. Please. He may be up there in years but this boy has a great spirit. HSRESCUE@AOL.COM

Dolly is a real sweetheart!

After she found herself in a local shelter, Dolly began her search for her FUR-ever home with HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue. Dolly is looking for a home either with other dogs or without - she doesn't mind either way. Dolly loves walks but also enjoys a nice snooze in a warm blanket on a cold winter day.

DOLLY is approximately 5 years old and a very easy-going girl. She adores food but has to go easy on the treats to stay healthy and keep her figure. DOLLY's eyes were a mess when we first got her, but they're being treated with medicine now, and before she is adopted she'll have her follow-up with the opthamologist to determine whether or not she needs surgery to make her more comfortable. (The surgery will be covered by the rescue, if needed, before her adoption is finalized.)

DOLLY is completely house-trained and has great manners. She'd make a wonderful addition to anyone's family. DOLLY's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Northern Maryland area.

For information about Dolly or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

LESS THAN A WEEK LEFT TO VOTE TEAM BULLDOG

CONTEST ENDS DECEMBER 16th! PLEASE HURRY AND VOTE. GET YOUR FRIENDS TO VOTE!!
A joining of resources by Southern California Bulldog Rescue, HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue and Love-A-Bulldog Rescue.

Greetings!

We want to win a contest for $10,000 awarded to the shelter program that get's the most votes from supporters over the next couple weeks. This is a nationwide contest with some very large and famous animal shelters entering this contest...and we have a good chance of placing in the top spot.

To succeed 'we need your vote', a spouse, friend, neighbor, co-worker or anyone else that understands your concern for bulldog rescue and will lend a few seconds of their time to cast their personal vote too.

'Three Bulldog Rescue Programs With One BIG Dream'

As small regional bulldog rescue programs we are wise enough to know that none of us alone stand much of a chance in these 'large nationwide fund raising contests', with so many much larger rescues dominating these contests.

But we are confident enough that the bulldog community is strong enough to join together 'as one' to share in the winning of one of these contests. There are examples of this in past, as just this last year we placed in the top following much the same plan.

This time around in this contest, HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue, Love-A-Bulldog Rescue and Southern California Bulldog Rescue, will all to focus all our voting efforts to 'one voting account' with one goal in mind for us to win as a group and ultimately sharing the winning pot.

Thank your for your continued support and votes!

Brutus FKA Champ

Champ was adopted in July 2008 and re-named Brutus. Now, due to circumstances that have NOTHING to do with him, he finds himself homeless. His parents are going their separate ways and the economy has done a number on them, so this house-trained, sweet, loving total gentleman is looking for his furever home. He is good with all people, all dogs and cats, too. Nicknames: Champ-y! Expected Adult Size: Already reached adult size - approx 60 pounds of perfect!
Arrival Story: Champ was a stray before he came into rescue.

Bio: Champ is perfectly house-trained, neutered & an absolute gentleman! He is approximately 5 years old and his whole body wiggles with joy when he's happy.

Champ is really charming. He has an infected tail pocket caused by neglect - we are treating him with antibiotics internally and topically. His tail will always require daily cleaning. He's worth it, though - he's handsome and sweet, inside and out.

Sun Sign: GEMINI

Quick Bio: ADOPTABLE! I WILL MAKE A WONDERFUL COMPANION TO SOMEONE!

Likes: EVERYTHING. Doesn't know much about toys or nylabones but learning!

Pet-Peeves: None.

Favorite Walk: anywhere, and he's great on a leash!

Best Tricks: High five!

Motto: There's no place like home . . .

Lola is a SNUGGLEBUG!

Hey, my name is Lola and I am only 7 months old and have come all the way from down south to find a FUREVER home in the good old Garden State.

So far I really have enjoyed my time here in NJ with my foster family. I love to play ball with my bulldog friend Jersey and wrestle with my other bulldog pal Gia. I even got to go to the Octobullfest and took 3rd place in the costume contest as the inmate in the Justice Trio. Those girls at Heavensent really know how to put together a great event for all of us bulldogs and we all had so much fun.

I had some skin issues when I came to NJ but my foster mommy and daddy have done what it takes to get me looking and feeling beautiful once again. I do still need to get spayed and that is scheduled and will be done before I can be adopted.

I am only a lil' gal and am learning all these new things. I am very curious and would love to go to a home where they can keep up with me growing bigger and stronger each day.

I will warn you that I stick my tongue out a lot and its not because I am being fresh; I just don't realize I am doing it! My foster family thinks it is so cute and gives me character, so I am cool with it.

I really am getting this whole potty training thing down and I enjoy going outside and taking care of my business because that is what big girls do (so I'm told) and I want to fit in. I have been around some 2 and 3 year olds boys and they were fun but not as much fun as my furry pals. I also have been learning how to go for long walks on a leash with my foster mommy and pals and then I go home and am out for the count, passed out.

I do spend my bed time in my crib (that's what foster mommy calls it so I don't get sad going into the crate). While everyone goes to work I am back in my crib again. I love to be held like one of those babies without fur either you can cradle me in your arms or I will wrap my back legs around your waist and put my front paws around your neck whichever way you prefer - I don't discriminate.

I weigh about 32 lbs. and if you can lift me up we are in business. I do walk, run, jump, and play but really love being a little snuggle bug because it makes me feels so special. Mommy says I am her little dollbaby and wants me to go a family where I will get tons of love and won't have to share with two other dogs. She said she really would like me to go to a family who wants a lil' growing girl like me and I am a go with the flow kind of girl and just want to make her happy....but I would love to make you happy too? Can I come make your home my FUREVER home and we can all be one big happy family?

Gus is also an Honorary Bulldog!

Gus came to us in bulldog rescue because he was going to be euthanized and broke our hearts!! His person was taken to a nursing home and poor Gus ended up scared and shaking at animal control. He was not doing well in the shelter and had run out of time....

Gus is very laid back...almost like an honorary bulldog! He loves to play w/his foster brother, Milton. Gus is not really one for toys... not really one for bones either... he'll take them or leave them.

Gus is great with both dogs and cats... he is gentle enough to be around children.... he is a go with the flow kind of dog... His foster mom says when she left him at home the first time, he did whimper and cry at the door for about three minutes... She says, "he has not done that again but when i open the door it gets his attention and he runs over. He loves to go out on walks... very eager and knows he is going outside.... he pulls a little on a leash but in just the past two days has gotten much better with walking on a leash. He scrounges some while walking too.... looking for stuff on the ground to eat?" Foster mom says he is kind of a picky eater... likes beef flavored food... she walked him to the pet store and let him sniff a bunch of different bags until he found one he was interested in!!!

Gus seems to know some commands "come" "sit" (sometimes) "eat" (if you point to the food) .... does not like to be in a crate although he will go in if you ask him to and lay down. in the morning he greets you with a rubbing into you and rolling over move that is very sweet... sometimes the way his ears stick up and out as he looks at you is adorable.... he likes it if you rub by his butt, he'll do this lifting of his back paws move, like he is dancing left right left right... that is adorable.

Gus is house-trained, up to date on shots and will be neutered before being placed in his FUR-ever home.

Gus' adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Gus or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Scarlett is an Olde English Bulldogge

Scarlett's mom had her spayed and she is still fighting with the female lab in her home, so they've decided they have to give her up after all.

Scarlett had many applicants when she was posted previously and we will contact those applicants to see if they're still interested, but if you have not contacted us previously, please fill out an application (see link at bottom).

Hi, everybully, I'm Scarlett, and I am an Olde English Bulldogge. I am a baby, only just turned 1! My mom has to give me up because I'm fighting with the other female dog in our home. I don't fight with my brother, another Olde English Bulldogge, but I want to kill that lab!!

I am up to date on my shots and in very good health. I will have to be spayed before I can be adopted and the rescue girls are working on that now . . . My family says I am a VERY sweet dog, and I just love all people. I live with children and adore them - it's just that darn lab that makes me crazy!!

Because of my history of not getting along with my lab sister, HeavenSent is only going to place me in a home without other dogs. I would love to have a home with someone who is around a lot to play with me and give me attention - I am only a puppy after all! I am completely housetrained and very well-behaved.

I'd really like to find my FUR-ever home. Is it with you??

Scarlett's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. Bubba is waiting...

Bubba is a sweet boy who loves to ride in the car and get attention from people. He has had a hard life and was then dumped in a shelter in horrible condition.

Bubba is looking to spend his time with someone who is going to give him the care he so richly deserves. Bubba is just barely a senior - he's only 8 years old.

Bubba has dry eye and will need daily drops. Since his eyes were not properly cared for he has some diminished vision especially at night or in low light.

Bubba is looking for someone who wants a loving companion. He would love to hang out on the couch with you and watch TV. He loves to be with you and will follow you around the house.

Bubba is housebroken, crate trained, quiet, and loving. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and genders. Actually he pretty much ignores them. We do not know how he does with cats, but would guess by his nature he would ignore them as well. Bubba is craving a home and family to call his own.

Bubba's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Bubba or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Frankie, Honorary Bulldog

This is a courtesy posting of a sweet little Yorkie-Poo ! Frankie is about 18 mos old and as cute as a button. He is cooped up in a crate all day and his owner knows this isn't fair. Life has changed since Frankie came to live where he is, and he is being surrendered with love. He is a young fellow and smart as a whip. He will need some re-housebreaking, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

He has a great personality and love kids. He MUST be in a home where his people will have time for him ! When you are waiting all day for your people to come home, you need to know they will be as excited to see you as you are to see them! Please write FRANKIE in your e-mails if you are interested in this little guy ! Thank you!

Frankie's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. Winston is being surrendered because he is having a difficult time adjusting to the two young children in his home, one who is 10 months old and the other who is 2. For that reason, he will only be placed in a home with children over 12.

Winston is five years old, DOB 7/1/04 and weighs 68 lbs.

Winston 3's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. Dellmonico is a quick study!

Update: MY TRAINER SAYS I AM A QUICK STUDY AND BOY HAVE I IMPROVED IN SUCH A SHORT TIME!!

ALL I NEEDED TO KNOW WAS WHAT TO DO! NOW THAT SOMEONE TOOK THE TIME TO SHOW ME, I AM AMAZING!

Hi, I am Delmonico, but you can call me DEL! I am a young happy boy with lots of energy, so if you like to walk and play, I am your boy! I prefer to be the only dog and I promise I'm enough to keep you busy and entertained!

I am completing obedience school and will be neutered and up to date on all shots! If you have room in your home and your heart for me, I would be forever grateful!

The rescue lady says I should have a home with someone who has some training experience and who is willing to work with me on further obedience training. Otherwise, she says, I might walk all over you!

Delmonico will only be placed in a home without young children and with no other pets.

Dellmonico's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Dellmonico or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Join HeavenSent's South Jersey Bulldog Meetup!

We are a group of Bulldog enthusiasts and volunteers helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome bulldogs who find themselves homeless! We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and hold 3 fundraisers per year.

We are also affiliated with the Bulldog Club of Philadelphia and sometimes join together for rescue events with puppy matches. We have lots of fun and tons of bulldogs join us!

In addition to our 3 annual fundraisers (BullyFest in April, Octo-BULL-Fest in October, and Kissing Booth for Valentine's Day), we have adoption/awareness/get-togethers at Cutters Mill Pet Supply in Cherry Hill on the third Saturday of every month, from 10-3.

I started this group so we would have an easy way to tell everyone about our events and to hear about what other events you'd like us to have.

MANY people join us who have bulldogs purchased from breeders, rescued from other rescue groups, or who don't have bulldogs themselves but LOVE the breed. Others join us because they want to learn about the breed or are interested in adopting.

We hope you'll join us.

Patches is a Good Girl Looking for a Good Home

Hi, everyone!! My name is Patches and I'm looking for my new home. My mom loves me so much that she's willing to let me go where I will have a better life.

Mom and dad split up and now Mom can't stay home with me any more, and she works lots of hours. I am used to having a home with a yard where I can wander around to take care of business, and our new house doesn't have a yard. Most of all, my mom wants me to have a familiy around to love me and for me to love.

I am spayed and up-to-date with shots and in very good health. I enjoy snoozing on the couch and playing a little, too!! I like everyone, men and women and have been around kids. I haven't spent much time around other dogs so I would prefer to be an only dog, although meetings with other dogs at the park or the pet supply store or on walks are not a problem at all.

The rescue people tell me I would be a good fit for just about anyone looking for a sweet, loyal companion.

Patches' adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Patches or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Delilah & Spongebob seek a home together.

Spongebob and Delilah are a bonded pair of beautiful english bulldogs who have been together since they were 8 weeks old.

Now 6, they do everything together; watching them is very sweet. They really rely on each other.

Both are very sweet loving dogs. When they play Spongebob can get a little rambunctious with Delilah. She is quite a bit smaller than him. They love to go for little walks and love going into the car for rides. Both dogs are well behaved in the house and car and obey basic commands.

Sponge and D get along with dogs and can tolerate cats, too. Delilah has a funny gait due to Patella Luxation which means she has a trick knee, however, the vet promised his foster mom that she is not in any pain.

Spongebob is recovering from a yeast infection in his ears and on his neck. He is on antibiotics and it's clearing up nicely. He also had a eye infection which is being treated everyday.

This adoraBULL pair must be adopted together because they are so close. If you are the lucky family to give these two sweet bullys a home, you will not be sorry.

Delilah & Spongebob's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Delilah, Spongebob, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Can you give Bubba the life he deserves?

Bubba is a sweet boy who loves to ride in the car and get attention from people. He has had a hard life and was then dumped in a shelter in horrible condition.

Bubba is looking to spend his senior years with someone who is going to give him the care he so richly deserves. Bubba is just barely a senior - he's only 8 years old.

Due to years of neglect, Bubba has dry eye and will need medication for the rest of his life. Since his eyes were not properly cared for he has some diminished vision especially at night or in low light. He has arthritis in his shoulder and will not be able to take long walks or manage many stairs. He does take deramaxx for his arthritis pain.

Bubba is looking for someone who wants a companion.

For information about Bubba, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Allie is a sweet girl looking for a new home

Allie is a senior looking for a comfy spot in your home and your heart. In just a few years, her life has changed quite a bit--she's gone from being a young man's devoted companion to member of a busy family with three children under age 4. That's a lot of change for a bulldog gal who will be 10 in October!

Allie's owners both work full-time in addition to parenting. They know that Allie needs more attention than they can give her. Allie would love to be in a home where she will rarely be alone.

Allie is hard of hearing, but gentle as can be. She is fine with kids. We're told she is OK with other dogs, although she has never lived with one. Allie will need daily eye drops for dry eye. She gets around fine, and can take some stairs, but adding a joint supplement to her diet may make her more comfortable. She also takes a daily medication to control a bladder issue, and it's working well. She is spayed and up-to-date for vaccines.

Allie's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Allie, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Can you help Gordon learn how to love?

Hello everyone, my name is Gordon. I am a handsome boy if I do say so myself. Before the girls at Heavensent came to get me my life was pretty boring. I had to stay in a kitchen by myself and I never really hung out with my humans. I am 3 years old and am learning everyday to be part of a family. My foster family is really working hard with me. I get grumpy sometimes so I am hoping to find someone who is able to train me cause I am real smart!

I am just recovering from a tail infection and they put me on a diet, not enjoying that cause boy I love my treats! But they say I will feel better if I lose weight so I will deal with it.

Can you open your heart and home to help Gordon learn how to love? Applicants should be willing to train Gordon. Also his placement will be strictly NO CHILDREN. Demonstrated bulldog experience is required.

Gordon's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about gordon, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website. For an application, please visit our Bulldog Adoption Online Application.

Do you have room for a Meatball?

A few of the things Meatball's foster family learned this week are: likes to take walks, likes other animals, can do a few simple commands, housebroken.

He does like to give kisses that are very sloppy!!

MEATBALL will need an experienced bulldogger who knows how to work with his ALPHA personality. He's a good boy but needs some consistency, a regular routine, and a little training, too.

Meatball's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Meatball, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website.

Alfred would make a GREAT companion

We are posting Alfred as a courtesy to his family.

Alfred is a 3 year old male OLDE ENGLISH BULLDOGGE who is absolutely loveable.

He is very energetic and loves to play outside and run after his alltime favorite "Jolly Ball". Watch out when he comes a runnin, weighing in at around 83lbs he can really build up some speed - he can be a canine cannonball!

Alfred totally loves the beach but is not so sure about the waves. He is a great snuggler and will kiss you to death if you let him. He loves to go for car rides too. Make sure you save your pizza crusts, because they're his favorite along with anything else you're willing to share.

Alfred loves a good belly rub and a vigorous scratch along his oh-so-soft neck. He will even tolerate a nice warm bath as long as he knows the blow dryer is coming next. For a tough but handsome guy, he loves to be pampered.

Alfred is looking for a SPECIAL FUR-EVER and quiet home where he can be the only dog and where he doesn't have to share the spotlight much with children or a lot of people generally. He is a very fun and energetic guy and will give his unconditional love and plenty of kisses if you are looking for a good canine companion. He will need someone who knows how to establish the alpha position in the home so that Alfred doesn't take over! At his size and weight, this is essential, even for a pussycat like Alfred.

Alfred's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Alfred, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website.

Dozer is searching for his FUR-ever home.

Hi, everybully, I'm DOZER and I am looking for my FUR-ever home!! I was surrendered along with my sister because our family lost our home. SADIE found a home but I'm still looking . . .

My foster dad described me as the resident gremlin who comes out of his crate, supervises everything, gets lots of bellyrubs, pesters the lady dogs he likes, tries to boss one or two other dogs around, eats and tries to score some treats, then snoozes away again.

In between, I love chewing on some nyla-bones. I'm friendly to everyone (as long as they have good doggy etiquette) and would be a good fit for just about anyone looking for a sweet, loyal companion.

Here is what my foster mom wrote about me!: Dozer is a 3-5 year old English Bulldog weighing ~ 44 pounds, who was surrendered for adoption as his owner could not afford to care for him any longer. He came into foster care with us on 7/25. Dozer is neutered and had to have his hind legs/spine x-rayed due to his abnormal gait. He was found to have spondylosis, a right leg moving kneecap (luxating patella) , and his right (and left but much less so) femur head does not sit properly in the hip socket . Some beginning areas of arthritis were also evident. His bloodwork revealed that he is an otherwise healthy boy.

Dozer is a riot. He has some dominance traits which he mainly expresses by staring down or snorting at our other resident dogs, who seem to get the message. He has never shown any aggression (except a little snap once or twice at another dog) and otherwise gets along fine with our other 4 dogs. He loves to be in the mix of things and is very affectionate with people. He loves nothing better than a good head rub only to plop down, expose his belly and enjoy some serious belly rubbing. While his gait is problematic, he can suddenly move pretty fast when he sees an nice girl dog or a treat! Dozer is 95% housebroken and loves his crate. He uses it voluntarily and we never close its door. He also at times enjoys some chew toys and has never chewed on anything inappropriate in our home.

Dozer needs a home that is aware of his spine and hip issues, which are managed with one medication and a supplement. Dozer cannot walk far, although he has tried to go on walks with us. He can go on very short walks with some pausing along the way. He likes these excursions and also enjoys getting outside in our yard and chilling on our porch. He can walk our patio steps into the yard, although he is cautious in doing so. Dozer needs a home without many steps.

Dozer is a bossy, super cute, affectionate guy that turns heads wherever we go. He has some really good years ahead of him. He would be fine with children but we are not sure how he is with cats.

Dozer's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Dozer, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website.

VOTE FOR PEDRO!

Meet Pedro- this boy has gone from rags to riches as the saying goes.

Pedro came to rescue after he was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. Everyone who has met him since says they could not have met a sweeter boy.

Pedro loves to go for a walk and is very well mannered on a leash. He loves to ride in the car. He even knows some basic commands like 'sit' and 'shake paw'. He barks at the door when he has to go potty.

Pedro has been great with other dogs and kids and is very playful. But in typical bully fashion, his most favorite past time is SLEEP! He has adopted the spot on his foster sister's trundle bed as his own place at night. Pedro would do very well sleeping in his own dog bed but wants to be in the room with his people.

Pedro does not use a crate and is fully house trained. He loves to sit in front of the fan and snooze away!! Pedro has had some issues in the past with his eyes and has been seen by a specialist, he is doing great but will probably need eye drops his entire life. He also takes new places and steps cautiously until he gets used to a new place... His favorite place to sleep is in front of the fridge so he never misses a meal!!!

As Napoleon Dynamite said, "Vote for Pedro!"

Pedro's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Pedro, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website.

Who wouldn’t love to have a pre-owned Lexus?

Well, here is your chance!

Lexus, also known as ‘Lex,' is an older model. She is 10 years old, but young at heart--a true creampuff. Lexus is fawn and white, with a wagging tail shaped like an apostrophe. She loves it when someone fawns all over her. She makes friends fast!

Financial hardship brought Lexus to rescue, which is very sad, because she was with the same family since she was 10 weeks old. She is a bright-eyed, happy gal.

Lexus is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash and loves car rides. Her former mom says she is cool with kids, other dogs, and kitties, too. She has a minor skin condition that is healing quickly.

If you’d love to drive home with a Lexus, please email us AFTER you've completed our application.

The most "Ador-A-Bulldog Calendar' contest is a collaboration of bulldog owners, bulldog rescue programs, veterinarians and other lovers of the bulldog breed to raise funds for rescue programs. Our goals include finding the most 'adorable bulldogs' so that we can include these bulldogs as the 'pin-up winners' and produce a calendar for 2010 that reflects all that we love about our bulldog companions.

We want your submissions of photographs, participation in the voting process and purchase of a calendar to help make this a successful contest. Remember that 100% of all the proceeds will go to further support bulldog rescue programs in your own community and work to a time when there are no more homeless bulldogs.

Lastly, we ask that everyone have a good time photographing their bulldog and being able to share their best 'ador-a-bull' photos for others to enjoy. Important Dates to Remember: * Photo submissions July 1, 2009 to August 15, 2009. * Voting Until August 30, 2009 Midnight Eastern Standard Time * Winners announced by September 15, 2009. * Calendars completed and delivered by November 1, 2009.

Meet Stompy!

Hi! My name is Stompy! I am a fun loving boy with lots of quirky traits to fall in love with. I am a great lover of life and all those that share it with me.

I am a compact little guy that gets along with everyone - I am good with kids, cats and other dogs. My foster mum and dad take good care of me and play ball with me every morning and every night. I am actually quite obsessed with ball play and need a family that takes play time just as seriously as I do.

I sleep with my teddy every night and nuzzle myself to sleep while grunting and snoring. I love to kiss and lick arms and legs - I know it is weird but I like doing it. I do suffer from allergies so I take over the counter allergy meds long term. We would prefer to place STOMPY in or around the Harrisburg, PA area

Stompy's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Stompy, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website.

Mambo the lovebug!

Mambo is a MAJOR LOVEBUG and we've heard he's known as the KISSING BANDIT!! Mambo is a GREAT bulldog who has been in foster care for a while.

His foster family really wanted to keep him, because he's an angel, but the bulldog who already lives there doesn't like poor Mambo, so he's officially on the market and looking for his FUR-ever home!!

Mambo is a really HANDSOME boy, and his insides match his outsides - we mean he's beautiful inside and out. Mambo loves to hang out with his people more than anything in the world. He lived in the basement in his original home, and had a really bad skin issue which has cleared up from good food and living. Mambo is totally housetrained and just wants to PLEASE. He is gentle and sweet, too.

Mambo would love to have someone who works from home or someone retired to hang around with - he is happiest with people, with or without other dogs or cats, but if he's with other animals, they MUST be friendly to him!! He's too sweet to deal with DRAMA.

If you are a REALLY SPECIAL person who wants to adopt Mambo, please email us AFTER you've completed our application.

Mambo's adoption will be limited to the New Jersey, Southeastern PA, Delaware and Maryland area. For information about Mambo, or ANY of our adoptable dogs, please visit us at the HeaventSent Bulldog Rescue Official Website.
